Today, I'm talking about decorating around my front door. Earlier this week, I posted about an outdoor fall tablescape for two so check it out if you missed it!
I have a large front porch and it can get expensive if I want to decorate the whole thing. But by re-using a lot of what I have, smart shopping and primarily focusing on the front door I'm able to create a welcoming front entry.
Forgive my poor photography skills -- the sun shines right onto the porch in the morning and afternoon, so it can be tricky to take decent looking pictures. Unfortunately, the following picture doesn't really do the front door area justice but I wanted to be able to give you an idea of the space I'm working with.
Let me show you the details so you can a better look!
Here's my hanging basket. The front door is huge and this basket is the perfect scale -- it's nice and big!
Just to the left of the door is my chalkboard easel project I posted about earlier. It's all nestled amongst the mum and the pumpkins and gourds.
Obviously, I like to use lots of pumpkins, gourds and plants everywhere. I like using a Croton plants in the fall -- such great color! And, my other favorite natural element is horse apples. I just find them on the side of the road. They're a great filler and they're FREE!
And, of course, it wouldn't be fall with a scarecrow...and more pumpkins!
It's so fun adding all the fall colors throughout my front porch. Thanks for taking a look!
