Pinterest Project #2 – Keeping the Shower Clean

I’ve pinned a lot of cool tips, projects and ideas on Pinterest but quite honestly I haven’t actually tried many of them.  So I recently decided that it’s time I put some of these bright ideas to the test and then share the results with you.

A week or so ago I tried organizing my pot lids in my kitchen with a tension rod and although I couldn’t do this with every single lid I own, I do like the results.

So with that success, I browsed through my “Ideas I Like” Pinterest board and found another cool tip I’ve been wanting to try.

It involves this handy little kitchen dish wand.  It will help you keep your shower clean Every. Single. Day.  Wow.  That’s my kind of tip!

I have a large shower in my master bathroom and I don’t like cleaning it.  At all.  It requires me to step inside to wash down the walls and all the glass.  I don’t know why this seems so exhausting to me but I really, really don’t like doing it.  It is my second least-favorite thing to clean in my house (the other is my husband’s study).

It’s an awesome shower — just not to clean.  But, I think I’ve established that fact already. :)

The Pinterest tip says that you take the magical little dishwashing wand and fill it up with a solution of half Dawn dishwashing liquid and half white vinegar.  Easy enough.  Then, you just keep it in your shower so it’s handy when you’re done showering.  I hung mine up on a hook using a ponytail holder/band.

Then, when you’re done showering you simply scrub the walls and floor and then rinse.  Voila!  When you step out of the shower both you and your shower are clean!

The first time I tried it I was super excited so I didn’t think about anything else that might be needed to complete the job.  Since my shower is large, I cannot rinse off all areas using my shower head.  So, the next time I showered I brought in a clean rag that I get wet and then wipe/rinse the soap off the walls.  I absolutely LOVE this tip!   My shower is clean all the time now.  The only other thing I do to keep it clean is to vaccuum it out occasionally when it’s dry.  Easy!

It’s hard to show a clean shower in a picture, but I assure you it is!  Have you tried any great tips on Pinterest?  I’d love to hear about them!

Due to stolen content I cannot provide a full RSS feed. I work hard to provide fresh, original content and, unfortunately, there are sites that like to steal from honest, hard-working bloggers. Thanks for understanding!

I love hearing from you! Thank you so much for your comment!
