Valentine’s Day Mail Bag
I don’t usually go so crazy with Valentine’s Day, but this year, I seem to be going all out.
I think it’s because 1) I missed all of the red in my house when the Christmas decorations came down and 2) this may be the last year I have a child who will exchange Valentines cards in school. My kids are just growing up way too fast for me and I’m trying to hang on to all of the little things as long as I can!
I think exchanging sweet messages with friends is such a fun tradition. I mean, don’t we all really love to get mail? (Except the grown-up, boring kind!)
As my daughter gets older she carries more stuff to school. So, this year we decided that lugging a bulky box to school for the Valentine exchange wasn’t practical.
That’s why a little Valentine’s Day mail bag was the perfect solution.
It will lie flat in her binder before the mail exchange, and then it will be easy to carry home when it’s full! (more…)

Valentine’s Day Paper Flowers Craft
Whether you love, hate or are indifferent towards Valentine’s Day, I think you may still find my latest craft idea interesting. It can easily be adjusted for any time of year or holiday!
My kids love it when I decorate a little for each holiday so I make an effort to do a little something with hearts and red accents this time of year.
I originally set out to do something completely different with my paper muffin cups but then I came up with this Valentine’s Day paper flowers craft idea. It’s so simple and adds a fun punch of color for the holiday.
These paper flowers were so simple to make and didn’t take very long. (more…)

Valentine’s Day Mason Jar Gift {Mason Jar Monday}
I’ll be the first to admit it, I’m not great at putting together creative and exciting Valentine’s Day gifts. I usually do something small and simple for my kids. I write them something special on a store-bought Valentine’s Day card and give them some chocolate or a special treat. They love that and it’s easy peasy.
My husband, on the other hand…well, that’s where I can get a little stumped. Especially because he rarely eats sweets, and — as luck would have it — we often spend Valentine’s Day apart. This tends to be a busy travel time of the year for his business.
This year, I thought it would be fun to tuck a little surprise for him in to his travel bag — a little love in a mason jar!
This Valentine’s Day mason jar gift is so simple and easy. It’s also perfect for my traveling man because he likes to have snacks handy to eat on the plane or in the hotel. (more…)
