So many of you liked my plate wall when I showed you my dining room re-do the other day.
It’s one of my favorite features, too.
I received a question about how I hung my plates. Which made me remember a post I read on another blog when the blogger asked people how they hung their plates and what method they preferred.
So, today, I’m showing you my favorite way to hang plates. It’s super simple and, I haven’t had any disasters hanging them this way.
For almost all of my plates, I used these neat little adhesive plate hangers.
They fit securely onto the plate, and — my favorite part — they hang so nicely on the wall. They seem to lie a little more flat with the adhesive hanger and they are very secure.
I bought my plate hangers at Amazon.
I have heard that some people had trouble with these hangers, but I have other plates in my home that have hung for a few years with these without a problem. Follow the instructions carefully and you should be golden.
For my large white platters, I used the “old-fashioned” wire plate hangers.
Deluxe Plate Hanger
These plates are heavy and instead of ordering the larger adhesive hangers, I just went with something I had on hand. I may eventually switch them over, though, because I love the fact that you can’t see the hanger with the adhesives. The adhesives also seem more secure to me.
The other thing I like about the adhesives is that they can be completely removed without damage to the plate. The down side is that they are not reusable.
So, there you have it…my preferred method for plate hanging.
If you like plate walls as much as I do…
…then you might want to give this method a try!

I have never seen those disk things but I am going to look for some. I do think I would use the old wire hangers on the larger pieces, too. xo Diana
I also LOVE these plate sticky holders. I was over the moon when I found them at Hobby Lobby…and with a coupon…they are cheap cheap! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Julie. I have used the old woven/glue things in the past and they have held, but then one day plop they have been known to plop off in the dry west Texas air, so I’m delighted these are available at hobby lobby.. thank you!!! xo marlis
Your plates are beautiful and so wonderfully showcased!…I really love the configuration of plates that I have seen such as the one you presented by Apartment Therapy…I love Ann’s numbered plate too!
Thanks for the tip. I am looking to do a focal wall and use some plates myself. I had been dragging my feet because I wasn’t sure how I would hang them. Now I know it’s not too tough!
If you are decided to hang plates like this it is your responsibility to choose a right Adhesive manufacturers to stick on the wall.
