Summer Tablescape {It’s All Set}
Happy day, school is out!
The arrival of June means the lazy days of summer break are here. Almost.
We have a big project going on in our backyard that I’m excited to share with you soon. I had hoped it would have been done by now, but with all the rain we have experienced here in Texas, our project has taken weeks longer than expected so our backyard isn’t looking so lovely right now.
As a result, today’s summer tablescape that I’m sharing as part of the monthly, “It’s All Set” tablescape series, is indoors — not out on my back patio as I had hoped.
But, that’s okay, because even though it wasn’t what I planned I love how it turned out.
I wanted to create a table using what I already have, yet make it feel fresh and airy like summer. (Now that I think about it, however, it’s rarely “fresh and airy” during a Texas summer – ha!) (more…)

Farmhouse Spring Tablescape {It’s All Set}
Spring is one of my very favorite seasons in Texas. Yes, we do have a lot of storms this time of year, but the mild temperatures, the sunshine and the gorgeous Spring flowers take center stage.
It’s the time of the year when we really enjoy dining outdoors on our back porch because it’s not too hot outside yet.
When it’s just the four of us, we are pretty casual and use whatever plate we want and eat buffet style. We just dish it up indoors and take it outside to enjoy the weather and the pool side view.
But, when friends come over, I fancy it up a bit and try to make it feel a little extra special.
I love the casual and comfortable beauty of farmhouse style dining, so I thought I would put together a farmhouse Spring tablescape. This setting is perfect for a special lunch with friends, don’t you think? (more…)

Easy 5-Minute Decor Idea
I have a hard time getting my house back in shape after the holidays. Even if my house is clean and organized and all of the Christmas boxes are put away, I inevitably have some unfinished “holes” in my decor.
That’s because it all looks so blah to me after Christmas and I feel the need to freshen things up a bit. Does this happen to you, too?
I still have a few holes here and there but I did tackle my foyer table the other day. I added a little color with a new plate (a Christmas gift) and some faux greenery.
