I think I am the world’s slowest holiday decorator. I started putting a few Christmas decorations up the week before Thanksgiving and I just made my indoor finishing touches today. Or, maybe not. That’s kind of the way I am. I put 90 percent of it out and then slowly tweak and craft my way to the end. I just can’t seem to stop fussing with everything. Are you that way, too?
Fortunately, I finished my entry first so my home looked all decked out in it’s holiday best before I was actually done.
Today, I’m excited to show you what I’ve done just in time for the final day of Welcome Home Christmas Tour.
I’m joining over 20 other bloggers who have been sharing their foyers, front porches and other decor all around their homes all week long. I’ll have a complete list of all the blogs at the end of this post, so be sure to spend some time visiting them to see all of their beautiful decorations!
Come on in!
My little dog, Boomer, is always the first one to greet everyone. He kept photo bombing me today.
See his moppy little self? Poor Boomer is in desperate need of a visit to the groomer.
Oh and I just noticed the star on top of the tree needs to be rescued. It looks like we’ll be catching a falling star soon. What’s going on in this crazy house?
An explosion of red and green…that’s what’s going on!
I always admire the neutral palettes of other blogger homes but when I start decorating I just can’t seem to live without my beloved red and green.
The pops of red just make me happy.
I added more natural greens and plants than ever this year. Not too many dropping needles so far…
I love it that this little table top tree next to my advent calendar gives off a hint of pine every time I walk by.
Because it’s so low to the ground, I kept it very simply and decorated using only ribbon and wooden ornaments. Our cats have already played with the ornaments and our big dog, Bella’s tail has taken a few out as well, but nothing here is breakable so no harm is done!
And, here’s Boomer again. Look at those ears!
I wasn’t sure what to do with my functional little chair I keep in the foyer for sitting and putting on shoes. I just moved it over here by the stairs and discovered I kind of like it this way!
I am so crushing on the real evergreen garland on the stairway that I bought at Home Depot. It was only $5! I decided that even if it becomes dry and crumbly in a couple of days it will surely give me $5 worth of enjoyment. The smell is wonderful!
By the way, can you tell I have a slight thing for plaid?
I went a little crazy with plaid this year. Do you love plaid as much as I do?
Be sure to come back on Monday for Part 2 of my holiday home tour .

Julie, I am just like you tweaking until the end. I am glad someone else has to have red in their decor like me. Your home is looking quite festive. Can’t wait to see more.
I am the same way….it takes me a while to decorate. . . I create, tweak, tweak again then a couple of days later I change it!…Your foyer is amazing!…from the time you open the door and are greeted with that wonderful basket to the warmth of the glow of the tree. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful home decorated for the holidays!!!
