What a crazy, hectic week it was around here!
First, my house is a hot mess, I have several unfinished projects going on at once and, girl, I need to get my roots done and my hair cut!
The kids had school off on Monday and Tuesday because of ice so hardly anything got done in terms of cleaning up, but I did get a good start on a painting project while they were outside sliding around on the ice.
I put the finishing touches on it late yesterday and I am so happy with how it turned out! (If you follow me on Instagram you know I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It’s my first project using the color, Coco, and I am loving it!) I’ll be sharing it with you very, very soon.
I also did another spring project and I worked on my Spring Mantel which I’ll be posting about along with several of my blogger friends on Wednesday.
I have so many things in the works but no pictures of my own today!
But, I can’t leave you without some pretty pictures, so how about I show you some of my favorite eye candy I ran across this week?!
This family room from Sarah Richardson Design reminds me why I love her so much! She effortlessly marries modern with vintage and eclectic and it is just so darn classy and pretty. Oh, and her fabric choices just get me every. single. time. She always puts things together that I wouldn’t have thought of. I do love that girl.
The old rag rug draped over the upholstered chair caught my eye. My grandparents had rag rugs just like that everywhere and I always think of them when I see one.
Then, while I was pinning this week, I saw the room below. And, then, when I clicked on the link to the site it was pinned from, I found the incredible home tour.
OH MY! I love it.
The home is on Martha’s Vineyard and it is spectacular.
Beautiful, right?!
Finally, I adore the blog, Talk of the House. If you have never visited, it is a must-read (along with Lilacs & Longhorns, of course! teehee). Kelly has fantastic style and she takes her readers on fabulous house tours. This week she shared several homes from the architect from New York, John B. Murray. His style is right up my alley.
I love the homes he designs as well as the furnishings. Please remind me to start a vintage quilt collection!
I hope you enjoyed the eye candy today. I’ll be back to share more finished projects in the week ahead. Happy Friday!
Oh I love Kelly too!…Love her house and love when she posts about the wonderful getaways and home tours!…
I too have to get going on so many unfinished projects…you know how life just gets in the way….Have a great weekend Julie!!
Thanks, Shirley — you have a wonderful weekend, too!
OMG I was just wondering why I don’t see Sarah Richardson on HGTV anymore. I love her shows.
I also was thinking the other day –
I have a quilt I made for our oldest (34 now) for her bed when she was a little girl – out of scraps from cloths I made her.
I want to make some sort of quilt for her and her sister for Christmas this year. I have been looking at different quilt designs & still not sure what I will do. When I finish these quilts I will post them on my blog –
Have a wonderful weekend.
Much love,
Rose
I can’t wait to see your quilts! I made a small one for my daughter when she was a baby and that was the end of my quilt-making. Maybe some day I’ll have time for it. I sure love the results!
Oh my goodness! Thank you for mentioning my blog here, Julie! This was such a happy surprise after a crazy crazy day at work. You lifted my spirits. And goodness knows I love Sarah Richardson AND Patrick Ahearn…such great eye candy. Hope you get a jump on all your unfinished projects. I’ve got a major one to get finished this weekend.
Have a good one!
I’m so glad this was a nice surprise for you, Kelly! I hope you get your big project done and that you have a wonderful weekend!
