Repurposed Fall Décor {Hospitality Filled Homes}

My husband celebrated his 50th birthday last week.  To celebrate, we held a small party with a few friends and I drew a birthday sign on a large chalk board to wish him a happy birthday.

As I was writing on the board, my daughter told me she thought chalkboard writing is my specialty.  I laughed a little at the thought, but then I decided that she might be right because I love to draw and write on chalk boards.  It makes me re-live my youth a little because art was always my favorite subject.

It only stands to reason, then, that I was all in when chalk boards came in to vogue.

After we remodeled our kitchen last year, I re-purposed a couple of our old cabinet doors and turned them in to chalk boards (you can read about it here).

Now that Fall is almost here, I was trying to come up with something that would welcome the season while making my home feel cozy and inviting. So, I decided to turn one of the small ones in to a fall “wreath” of sorts to create some re-purposed fall décor:

5 Easy-to-Make Fall Wreaths

I guess I have a thing for making fall wreaths.  Something about this time of year inspires me to get crafting!

Today I’m sharing 5 easy-to-make fall wreaths that I have shared here on the blog.

easy to make fall wreaths

If you regularly read my blog, you’ll notice that two of them I just made this year.  But for those of you who are new here, I thought it would be fun to have them all in one place for Fall decorating inspiration!

Every one of them is simple and takes less than an hour to make.  All you need is a wreath form of some kind — a twig wreath, a straw form or a grapevine wreath — and you’ll be in business.  Oh…and don’t forget your hot glue gun!

Click on the titles below to go to the tutorial for each wreath.

Fall Twiggy Wreath

This wreath is made from a twiggy wreath base and then I added some fall embellishments including hand-made burlap roses.

Halloween Ghost and Candy Corn Wreath

I simply wrapped a straw wreath form with strips of black fabric I already had.  Then I wrapped a cut Halloween garland around the covered form and added a few ghostly embellishments.  I’m not a fan of scary Halloween decor, so this one suits me well!

Simple Fall Grapevine Wreath with Sunflowers

This simple wreath takes just a few minutes to glue on a few embellishments to a grapevine wreath.  I especially love the little chalkboard that can be taken off and used for other projects!

Scented Fall Pine Cone Wreath

I am in love with this little wreath!  I love it’s simplicity and I adore it’s cinnamon fragrance!

Fall Foliage Wreath

I think this is my favorite fall wreath I’ve ever made.  I spent a little more than I usually do on my outdoor wreaths and I think it was worth every penny!  Still, it was a lot cheaper than ready-made wreaths and it was so simple to make!

Wishing you a blessed day!
