If you are a follower of my blog, you will recognize this inspiration board. This post and it’s contents will seem familiar.
You’re probably asking yourself lots of questions: Didn’t she post this earlier this year? Haven’t we already seen this? Didn’t she already do a bathroom makeover in a farmhouse style?
Yes, yes and no.
I attempted to start this journey in the spring. But then, when I was putting mulch in my backyard garden beds I overdid it.
I strained my elbow pretty severely and couldn’t do much of anything for weeks on end. Buh, bye One Room Challenge. So long, pretty “new” bathroom! It will have to wait for another day.
Well, it’s time. The fall One Room Challenge began last week (hosted by Linda at Calling it Home), and I decided that I better join in better late than never.
The paint cans are calling. Company is coming for the holidays. I must complete this project!
To re-cap…this re-do is a minor facelift. It is not a gut job. There is no new tile, new counters or any other major revisions going on here.
The truth? This bathroom needs new countertops (only cosmetically, though — they are in perfect condition) and new tile (cosmetic), but those things are not in my budget at the moment.
So, this makeover is going to be what I envision most of you would do at your house — apply a fresh coat of paint and add some new accessories to make it feel fresher and more updated. I’ve been tossing around doing some wainscoting on one wall, but I will have to get hubby to get on board with that one (wink)!
To see my original post with before pictures of my bathroom, go here. To see the plans and progress of others joining in on the ORC go here. Each week, all participants in the challenge will share their progress at Calling it Home for everyone to follow along and see. After today, we have 4 weeks to complete our projects and share the results on the last day — the final reveal!
Wish me luck! No pulled muscles this time, please!
It will be so pretty! And gahhh, you and Lisa both jumped in this week, and now I’m wishing I had, too! I need to think up a small project and fast 😉
I enjoy the one room challenges. Good luck with your vision and hope you don’t injure yourself.

Yay! I’m glad you’re going to get to refresh your bathroom now. I think it is going to be lovely!
I am so in love with that rug!!! And the lights are killer too. It’s going to be a great farmhouse look.
Sorry about your elbow♥ All the best with the bathroom make over ♥
I’m sorry about your elbow. I hope this time nothing stands in the way of your makeover. I love the inspiration picture. That sink is amazing.
