Every year the Christmas season seems to get shorter and shorter. By that I mean that I often feel like I have less time to do all the things that need to get done. Decorating, baking, shopping, wrapping, getting the house ready for family…
At some point, I just have to accept the fact that some things won’t get done and that it’s not about perfection.
I had planned to write more blog posts up until now. I still had ideas and things I wanted to share but decided that family and Christmas preparations at home needed to take priority. I hoped that you would all understand. I told myself you were probably doing the same things I was…scurrying around trying to make sure everything was ready for the big day.
For the first Christmas since I have been blogging, I didn’t get my Christmas table set for you to see. Here it is last year.
I will use my same Christmas plates again this year and will set my table in much the same way when I host our family for Christmas dinner tomorrow. I will take some pictures when it’s all set and will post those to Instagram.
This afternoon we will attend Christmas Even church services and will go to my sister-in-law’s home after for what I call a Texas-style Christmas Eve. She’s serving Mexican tamales with chili.
My parents arrived from Minnesota yesterday and then my brother’s family will arrive from Arizona on the 28th to stay with us through the New Year.
It will be so nice to spend time with my family. My kids are so excited they can hardly stand it!
I will be posting a little bit on the blog as well as on Instagram and Facebook but mostly I will be spending time with my family. I hope you will be spending time with your loved ones as well.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season to you!
Take care,
So very beautiful as always Julie…I so love your dining room!!!……Have a most blessed Christmas with your family making memories to treasure forever!….
Julie,
Time ran out for me, too. I just reach a point and quit. What’s done is ready and the rest can happen another time. Some great photos of the Christmas season are sitting in file folders on my computer. Maybe they will be seen next year. 🙂
Merry Christmas to you. Sounds like you and your family will have a wonderful holiday season visiting and being with each other.
Looking forward to following along in 2015…
Judith
