The Michael J. Fox Show Television Set

Do you ever find yourself watching a movie or a television show and realize that you’re watching the set just as much as you’re watching the show itself?

It happens to me all the time.

Or, really, I should say whenever there is a movie or t.v. set worth watching.

The Michael J. Fox Show that just premiered a few weeks ago has a t.v. set worth watching.

If you can get past these blurry stop-action pictures with the play button in the middle, you can see that the make-believe apartment is fab.u.lous.  I love it!

I have no desire to live in Manhattan, but if I could live in this apartment I would leave my cowboy boots behind and saddle up for the Big Apple.

Okay…I really did try to get Mike with a better look on his face, but there was a big TV rating graphic pasted over the stuff I wanted you to see.  With that out of the way, you can see the pretty moldings and classic elements they’ve created on this set.  I love the look of this apartment!

I also love that the set designers made it a place where a family actually lives and they gave it such a cozy feel with the lighting and the decor.

Notice the baskets full of stuff (probably shoes and sports equipment) behind Michael J. Fox?  I can relate to that!

I also like how they filled his youngest son’s room with Legos.

Yep, I can relate to that, too!

It’s hard to get good pictures of the set when you’re following the action of the show, but the more I have seen, the more I am in love with the apartment!

I know you kinda have to squint, but that chair Mike’s wife is hovering over is gorgeous!  It looks like it’s linen with nail head trim.  Love!

I also adore the built-ins you can see here just off the kitchen.

Of course, I’m also happy to see Michael J. Fox back on television.  But, I gotta tell you, Mike…your Manhattan apartment had me at hello!  I think you need to tell NBC to do a set tour for all of us home stalkers out there.  Just sayin’.

What do you think?

Do you have any movie or t.v. show favorites?

I’d love to hear about them.

I love your post because I love sets. I have been helping my sister choose paint colors for her home and called to tell her to find the first episode of “welcome to the family” to see how all the colors of one of the set rooms look together.

    Parenthood! I love their sets!

I too wouldn’t choose to live in Manhattan, but Neil’s apartment in the show White Collar is so uniquely styled that I sometimes find myself examining his bookshelves when I should be paying attention to the dialog.

I too love the “sets” on Michael Fox’s show (& the White Collar residences ARE so inventively styled).
Actually, not sure the Michael Fox show’s apartment is a set. I think they might be actual apartments, because I’ve seen them on location filming at apartment buildings and around NYC (Central Park, etc). This might be a real apartment or it might be a set. Whatever, I love it, too. Oh, and btw – this apartment would cost a fortune. Most people don’t live in apartments this large in NYC (a one bedroom sells for well over $1million and rents for over $2k month) – and the huge kitchen is almost unheard of except in a loft (shall we say a $2-3 million+++ minimum loft?).

Watched the show just once so far…and so happy to see him back again…love that apartment too!
