Zinc Sap Collecting Cups: Hometalk Round Top Flip
A few weeks ago someTexas bloggers and I met in Round Top, Texas for the Round Top Antiques fair to socialize and shop for fun finds we could up-cycle or “flip.” Among other things, I found these awesome little zinc sap collecting cups:
As soon as I saw them, I knew they had to be mine . So much so in fact, I didn’t even notice the ginormous stuffed buffalo head hovering within inches above my head! (I wish I had a picture of that big buffalo and my reaction!) The best part? Each cup was only $1.50!
Just as the name implies, these cute zinc cups were originally used to collect sap.
I am currently using them in three different ways (but I have a few other holiday ideas for them that I will be sharing throughout the season.)
1. Desk and School Supply Storage:
I love using old stuff for storage. These little cups could not only hold pencils, but they could hold paper clips, rubber bands, scissors, you name it!
2. Vase
I know this is a no-brainer, but I still love a vintage vases for garden cuttings. It just makes a simple arrangement so special don’t you think?
3. Votive Holder
A pretty tablescape needs candles and something simple and vintage adds an extra dimension.
I absolutely adore how these cups look on my fall table. (I’ll be sharing this table display with a “how-to” soon!)
I found so many cool things at Round Top, I shared some of them here. I’ll be posting more uses for my zinc sap collecting cups soon as well as some other up-cycle projects that I intend to use for the holidays.
Have you found any great up-cycled finds lately?
Thanks so much for reading today!
