Rain, Rain Go Away!

If you have been watching the news you have most likely heard about the floods that we are experiencing here in Texas.  Our back yard has small pools of standing water and we are generally feeling very soggy and waterlogged.

We primarily spent our Memorial weekend watching movies and keeping ourselves busy indoors but we did manage to enjoy a few stretches of dry weather.  Sadly, there were no outdoor picnics or barbecues for us this year.

Today, I’m so grateful that we are safe here in our home and that even though all the low-lying areas nearby are filled with water where there normally is none, we are not experiencing some of the devastation that others in Texas saw this weekend.

The forecast here this week calls for chances of rain every day this week and as I write this post, the skies are gray and it is misting.

I hope you’ll pray or send good thoughts to the people of Texas this week.  There are 12 people missing in our state and some have died because of the rising and rushing flood waters.  It’s down right scary.

I hope you all have a safe week and let’s all count our blessings.

31 Days of Gratitude helps bring contentment and joyful living.

So sad! Our oldest son and family live in TX and I check in with them almost daily. Too bad some of this rain isn’t going to CA.

Yes, wouldn’t it be nice if we could share the rain with California?! We were in extreme drought here for the past four years and have prayed for rain and now we’re getting way more than we can handle. I hope things regulate for everyone soon.

I previously lived in both Houston and Austin and still have family in Austin, who are safe. My heart breaks for the families missing loved ones and am praying for them. Counting our blessings!

I’m so glad to hear your relatives are safe, Dee Ann! It is just so terrible hearing all this on the news. Yes, we are so sick of the rain, but I am just thankful we are all safe and dry in our home!
