We have had so much ice, snow and sleet lately that I nearly forgot it’s March! That means that Easter is right around the corner. What?!
When I created my Easter Mantel last year, I made some little bunny silhouette plates but, somehow, never managed to post about them here.
These Easter silhouette plates are so easy it’s just crazy.
Materials:
- inexpensive white plates (you can even use plates you plan to use for eating — this won’t harm your plate and you can eat with it again after Easter)
- scrapbook paper
- scissors
- tape
- silhouette shapes (I got my bunny and chick shapes here)
Tutorial:
I printed out my shapes from my computer and simply cut them out using scissors.
Then, I traced the image out on a piece of scrapbook paper (I traced it on the back of the paper so the lines were easier to see).
I cut out the silhouette and simply taped it to my plate with double sided tape.
Voila! Easy Easter silhouette plates.
You could also decoupage the shapes on to the plate for a more permanent decoration. I used tape because I wanted the flexibility to use my plates again for dining or other holidays. I kept my cut-outs so I can use them again.
This project was easy and inexpensive. You can use plates you already have, buy some from a garage sale or find them at a thrift store.

By the way, I’m sharing another simple and fun project at Jen Rizzo’s today.
I would love it if you would hop over there to see my little Easter bunny project complete with a tutorial.
Love it Julie!….super cute idea and adorable mantel!!
I can’t seem to get the templates to print out for me.
Hi Dorothy,
When you click on my link to the source of the bunny and chick images scroll about midway down to find the link that says “click here for the PDF” then click on it. A box with the images should come up. At the top is a little printer symbol. Just click on the printer and you should be all set. If that doesn’t work then it may have something to do with your printer/computer settings.
This is such a cute, simple idea! Love it!
Thank you, Sarah!
This is the most precious project. I love that it is so quick, easy, inexpensive, and simple. Lovin the bunnies on burlap. Thanks for sharing this one.
