The Holiday Table: DIY Crackers

I like to make holiday meals a little special and fun.

I think one of the easiest ways to do that is to put something different on the holiday table — something like Christmas crackers.

Have you every used these before?

If you’re unfamiliar, they’re little packages filled with tiny trinkets, a paper crown and maybe even a quote or a piece of candy.

Crackers can be silly and fun and a bit like a fortune cookie!

But, they can also be expensive — unless you make them yourself.

One day I looked at an empty toilet paper roll and had an “aha” moment — Christmas crackers!

All you need are some small little prizes like Christmas chocolates and miniature ornaments to put inside the tube.  You could also print out quotes, fortunes or Bible verses to tuck inside.  You could even make your own paper crowns just like the ones that usually come in store-bought crackers.

Once your goodies are inside the tube it’s just like wrapping a gift!

(I wrapped the tube first and tied one end closed so it was easier to stuff the tube without everything falling out.)

A few weeks ago, I shared this project over at Live Creatively Inspired (LCI).

Today, I’m sharing a quick and easy fudge recipe perfect for gift-giving at LCI.

If you love fudge as much as I do, you’ll want to check it out.
