Everything is “on display” at my house right now — and not in a good way.
So, so, NOT in a good way!
The carpet is being installed in our spare room today. And, we are also getting new carpet in our master bedroom and master closet. We have lived in our house 14 years and after 4 pets and two kids, it was time! Oh boy, was it time!
I knew it was going to be messy and I was right. It is messy.
Every stick of furniture, every decorative thing, all the bedding, anything that was on the floor, etc. is now in my kitchen, living room and dining room. It’s amazing how all those little things add up to one gigantic mess!
Of course, I’m excited about the new flooring but it is a lot of work.
I have been purging, cleaning and painting walls getting ready for today.
I spent a good part of last week and in to the weekend painting. I painted the spare room (I decided to go with Balanced Beige by Sherwin-Williams — the same color that’s in my kitchen) and then I painted the small “hallway” between the kitchen and the spare room as well as our little “mudroom” hallway from the kitchen to the back door. I will be showing all of this progress soon.
I also ended up painting our master bedroom. I wasn’t tired of the color in there, but because the animals are in our room so much we decided to go with a darker color carpet — a more practical choice – however, it will not go with the old wall color. I hope I’m going to like it. Sometimes change like that is scary when you weren’t really tired of the old colors!
When the workers leave I’m going to purge a little from my master closet as we begin to put things away. I did a complete purge a year or two ago and it appears I’ve let a few too many things creep back in so it’s time to sift through it all again.
Between all of my painting, purging and general mess-making I haven’t been able to take any new pictures or work on smaller projects to blog about, so I thought I would share a few of my older organizing posts in case you have the spring cleaning bug and are ready to purge and organize, too.
Enjoy and I’ll be back with another update for the One Room Challenge on Thursday — there is real progress being made and I am excited!
