Getting Creative at Home Blog Tour — Day One {My Favorite Project}

Paint projects, decorating, DIY…those are just some of the fun things that were going on at the Haven Conference last weekend.

In case you’re not familiar, Haven is a conference for home and DIY bloggers.  They get to laugh, have fun, practice DIY projects and meet other bloggers.  I hated to miss it!

So, 24 of us decided to have our own fun and and share it with you!

For the next 5 days you’ll get to meet some new bloggers, browse great projects and be a part of our own “Haven at Home” tour!

If you are new here, welcome!  I would love it if you would leave me a comment letting me know you stopped by!

Today is Day One, and we are visiting the following blogs:

Copper Roof Interiors

The Crafty Woman
Colors Mixed Together
The Rustic Pig

Lilacs & Longhorns

So that means that today I’m up on the starting block and I’m posting about one of my favorite projects.

If you’ve visited my blog lately, you can probably guess what it is!
It’s my dining room makeover.

This room was full of DIYs:  I painted the walls, reupholstered 4 chairs, slip-covered 2 chairs, painted a grandfather clock, and painted the china hutch and added legs to it for height.  Oh, and I also made the throw pillows…and I made the chalkboard.  This room truly was a ton of work, but I loved it!  (You probably shouldn’t have asked me about it midway through reupholstering, though – lol!)

This week I will finally be posting my dining room chair re-upholstery tutorial, so be sure to check back for that!

If you’re hungering for more blogger projects and browsing new blogs, check out the others participating in today’s tour.  Remember, we have a whole week of blogs to explore!

Julie, I have always LOVED your blog!! Your dining room is absolutely amazing! It’s so funny, I was looking at my parent’s grandfather clock in their home this past weekend thinking.. That clock would look so much better if it was painted! I LOVE that clock! Everything about this room is amazing… the colors, the hutch, the chairs (I HATE upholstering!), the mix of painted with unpainted… I just love it all! Thank so much for your idea to have a tour! This has been fun!! Hugs! Claire

All your hard work and attention to detail paid off so fabulously in this room – the chairs are just gorgeous – BUT I REALLY AM OVER THE TOP in love with your grandfather clock – I’m always on the lookout for one ( have no idea where I’d put it because I literally don’t have 2 extra inches of space at this point lol )
    Beautiful beautiful job!
