Quick, what do a summer wreath, painted kitchen cabinets and the wild west have in common?
Not much.
I know it’s kind of a random post title, but that’s sort of my life these past few weeks.
Today, I’m giving you a quick update to some of the happenings around here.
First, I want to show you this quick and easy summer wreath I made for my front door.
I needed something new and found a few spring and summer floral stems on sale one day. I snatched them up and and quickly put together this simple little wreath.
It’s keeping my front door looking fresh and welcoming while the inside of my house is a complete and total disaster.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you know that I am deep in the middle of my kitchen renovation (you can read more about how it all began here.)
After weeks and months of planning, shopping, and more planning things are finally in full swing.
We have been without a kitchen sink for a week, we have boxes, dust and stuff everywhere, but the kitchen cabinets are now painted and I’m so excited!
The cabinets are light grey and they are so beautiful!
Today, I finally put the dishes back in the cabinets, my awesome husband installed the microwave and warming drawer and we’re hoping the kitchen sink gets installed tomorrow followed by the counters and back splash by the end of the week.
Last will be the new lighting and then it’s all about the details!
I will continue to post on Instagram and Facebook, so please follow me there if you want to stay up-to-date!
Finally, we took a little time-out from all the craziness about a week or so ago and headed to the Wild West, sort of.
My husband’s uncle is a rancher in Southwest Texas and we spent the weekend there with our kids. We had a ball!
I took so many great pictures at the ranch and I’ll be sharing them soon. I can’t wait to show you all the treasures we found and what we did with them!
How is your summer going? Are you as busy as ever or are you resting and relaxing? I can’t wait to hear!
Thanks for stopping by,

Oh I cannot wait to see your kitchen….great wreath and how great to be able to explore on a great “wild west” ranch…your son is adorable and looks like his pretty mom!!
That must have been so much fun for your family to take day off to explore and have good time together. We all need to do that. Sometimes we get so involved in time crunches getting projects done. I’m still painting things late at night. Would love to be able to get new cupboards but that’s not reality so will be happy just to get them painted. I love your cupboards, have always wanted glass in doors, that wavy glass or maybe it’s called pleated? not sure.
We painted our living room recently and I made new art, gussying up last minute items. After that been kinda out of steam, been lazing around, just doing little things, waiting for inspiration to hit.
. Going to paint our kitchen cupboards, not new ones but they’ll look bunch better when they’re done, also using a light gray we used in living room. Actually thinking of doing cupboards in shade darker gray then the doors the same light gray as l/r. Or visa versa, what do you think? Our kitchen is right next to l/r, we have a single wide mfg. home 16×80 so have to take common wall to other rooms into consideration. Want to find something for back splash also, not just paint. On very skinny budget.
Enjoyed your post, you’ll love your kitchen when it’s done, us gals like to have a nice kitchen.
Happy summer days and your son is such a cutie.
Thank you, JaneEllen! I like your idea of using two different shades of gray. I think that would be pretty. Beadboard is always an inexpensive option for a backsplash. Also, white subway tile from Lowe’s is pretty cost effective as far as tile goes. Have fun making your selections!
Excited to see your cabinets! And I saw so many cute photos of you from Haven Happy summer! xoxo
Thanks, Andrea. Haven was so fun…I definitely recommend going! Hope you’re having a great summer!
