This is the first year I’ve decorated my mantel for Valentine’s Day.
My daughter (who is 8 years old today!) really wanted to decorate for the holiday this year.
And, since I’m now blogging…why not?!
It all started with the banner/bunting (what do you call these things?!)
I saw one just like it on Holly Mathis’s blog.
She bought hers on Etsy.
My daughter and I were looking at it together and decided we could make one! She got so excited she got right to work. We already had all the materials we needed at home.
We had it made within 30 minutes!
(I let her do all the hearts herself!)
I also made a little fabric pillow heart with leftover fabric I already owned.
Then, I found these cute little letters on sale at Hobby Lobby. $4.00 for the pair.
I rummaged through some of my picture frames and discovered I already had this wooden, decoupaged red frame in my stash.
So, I surfed the Internet for a free printable and found this:

And, it was done!
So simple and only $4 out of pocket — love that!

Perfect! You could hang a stuffed pig up there and all I would see is the buffalo check heart. So cute.
So adorable!!! My daughter, who is now away at school, always wanted to decorate for every holiday…my boys…not so much! They only want to hit the high lights (think Christmas and Easter!)
