As I write, my bags are packed and my house is a wreck from all of the chaos. I have been going at a hectic pace trying to get myself and my family ready for a big trip to Germany. We are leaving tonight.
My husband works for a company that is based there and we have decided that it’s time to bring the kids along to see another part of the world.
We are excited and even a little bit nervous. Our kids have never traveled outside of the country before and they aren’t quite sure what to expect. My daughter is afraid we’ll get lost and she’s absolutely sure she is going to miss all of our animals. My son is excited and can’t wait to see where the Munich soccer team plays!
We have a house/pet sitter (so don’t think my home is empty and unattended) so I need to get my house cleaned and ship shape before we go.
We know all will be well taken care of, but it still is a big deal getting us all ready and out of the house.
I have a few archived and some new posts scheduled so you can still stop by here to get some spring and decorating inspiration.
Today’s post is from last year but I think my intro sounds as if I wrote it this year!

I think the entire U.S. is going to breath a collective sigh of relief and joy when spring finally makes its appearance this year. It has been a long, stormy and cold winter across almost the entire nation.
My kids stayed home from school today because of an ice/sleet storm yesterday and subsequent icy roads. I think the school year will be going well in to June due to the number of ice days this winter.
All of that is to say that we are more than ready for spring around here!
I found a few things as I was shopping the other day to lift me out of the winter doldrums.
Today, I put together a little spring tablescape for two with my finds.
I found this little pot of white muscari (grape hyacinth) at the grocery store and couldn’t resist.
It’s still growing and blooming so I think I’ll be able to enjoy this for awhile.
I just love bulbs in the spring, don’t you?
I found these cute little silver buckets at Target in the dollar section. I think they’re so fun!
I mixed my brown transferware plates with some pink salad plates I found at Home Goods last year and put them atop my wicker chargers I bought at World Market last fall.
I love the texture of the chargers, they remind me a little of a nest.
I love the freshness and the colors of spring. And, if the weather is cooperating, we’ll just make it spring indoors!

Wait a sec- this was just a few days ago, and you are or getting ready to go to Germany with your entire family and you guest blogged to help Jenn out after surgery??!!??? Seriously?
I am completely amazed at that.
I wish you a safe, content and easy journey! Be prepared to be very cold there. But it is surreal in winter.
