Is it just me or did this year fly by?
It seems like this was the year that I wasn’t ready for each season to come nor to end.
Couldn’t the spring weather and flowers lingered? Couldn’t the lazy days of summer lasted just a little longer? And where did the holidays go? Is it time to take down the decorations already?!
In a few days it will be the new year and I hope that I will be able to mentally catch up!
To help get me there, I thought it would be fun to look back to see what I’ve shared with you this past year.
As I usually do, I start off each year purging and getting things organized. Last year, I created a small family command center that has been such a great help!
It really doesn’t take a huge wall or a big space to keep your family organized.
I also refined my pantry organization last year:
As with any space, it takes a little maintenance to keep things tidy and organized, but it you create a framework that functions well, it will keep you on track!
One of my favorite decorating “crafts” — and I use that term loosely with this one — is my front door floral bucket that I found at Hobby Lobby. I changed it up for each season and it was such a pretty and economical way to change up my front door throughout the year.
Likewise, I loved these two crafts that I created using the same little tea cup:
This fall door decor was one of my most popular projects (much to my surprise!):
I shared the story of our marble counters and gave insights and tips for living with marble.
I shared some recipes, like this easy strawberry jam:
my Texas-style mustard potato salad:
and this modified version of the Pioneer Woman’s tomato soup recipe:
I took you on a tour of my living room decorated for summer:
and, I ended the year with my Christmas home tour:
And, there were many more posts and pictures in-between, but hopefully, I’ve shown you some of the highlights! (To see more of my decor, crafts, recipes and projects click on the tabs at the top of this site.)
I cannot thank you enough for coming to my blog to read new posts and share your sweet comments with me! I am so appreciative and humbled by your kind words.
I have “met” so many wonderful people through this blog. Some just virtually and others in real life! It has been a blessing beyond words. Truly.
I hate to admit it, but I am not always the best at responding to comments — sometimes juggling my life as a blogger and a mom/taxi driver gets the better of me and I let things slip, but I really, truly love hearing from you and getting to know who is out there!
Thank you , again, for coming here and inspiring me! Here’s to a great 2023!
I just got back from the dollar store where I bought some bins so I can organize my new freezer. I guess everyone wants to start off the New Year more organized. I am also starting my Fibber McGee closet next week. Thanks for your organizing tips, they really help.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. You don’t know how much you have inspired me! I am now a vendor at two different boutiques and am seriously considering starting my own blog. Like I have told you before, you are a rock star to me! Many blessings for a wonderful 2023 to you and your family!
Wow, Kelly! Thanks for sharing that — I’m thrilled that you have been inspired! Good for you for all you’ve done and I hope you do start a blog! Please let me know if you do! Happy New Year to you! 🙂
Happy New Year Julie. Keep up the great work. I absolutely love your home and your blog. Looking forward to more get togethers too. 🙂
Thank you so much, Stacey. I love reading your blog too and look forward to more get-togethers — they are so much fun! Happy New Year!
Hi Julie,
I really enjoyed your year in review. I am inspired to tackle our mess of a pantry now… although I can’t imagine it ever being blog photo worthy! Please keep the motivating posts coming.
Thank you so much, Ellis. I am so happy you were inspired! It always feels good to have the pantry organized — blogworthy or not! Function is the key and that’s all that really matters! Happy New Year!
Your pantry is amazing. My favorite is the fall chalkboard and wreath. So cute. It was wonderful to meet you in 2015! Looking forward to all you will share in the new year, Julie.
