If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you already know that I love the color blue.
You may or may not be surprised to learn that I have an equal affinity for the color red.
Today I want to introduce you to some inspiring spaces that use the color red.
You may recognize this beautiful bedroom. It’s by Sarah Richardson and this is in her Canadian lake cottage. (Photo is from Country Living.)
I adore how this talented lady mixes vintage and clean, modern things together. The vintage quilt is to die for and I love how she effortlessly mixes and matches fabrics and colors. She is a genius.
Slipcovers and dhurrie striped rugs with gorgeous pops of red — need I say more? This space has such a classic, casual feel and the addition of red makes it sing. I can picture myself reading a book and getting comfy in this space.

And, of course, I love anything with checks. Wouldn’t these red and white dishes be so much fun for spring & summer?
Wouldn’t it be daring and fun to have a red stove?!
I don’t think I would ever tire of looking at that beauty.

I also love it when I see little pops of red brought in to an otherwise neutral pallet.

Finally, I think the way I love to see the color red the most is through nature:
I adore red geraniums. Unfortunately, I don’t have much luck with them in the summers here. I enjoy them for about 6-8 weeks and then they start taking a nose dive in the extreme heat.
Still, I can’t help but buy a few to enjoy even for a short time.

So pretty! Who doesn’t love red? That would be difficult to believe. Also one of my add-to favorites. Red can intermingle with all sorts of colors + shades. I absolutely l.o.v.e the red stove! A first that I’ve seen. Wow. Gorgeous. If the opportunity presented itself …. for sure it would be the color choice for my kitchen. Liking your blog!

I chose some geranium wallpaper border for my kitchen and red has grown on me. Blue and yellow are thru out the house but in the kitchen I tucked away the blue and have slowly been adding pops of red. Am loving it! I have a friend with all red appliances in her kitchen and a big red plaid wall. It is fabulous to visit, don’t know if I could live in it. Too much energy for me.hahaha!
