Inspire Me Sunday

inspiremesunday_2_300

It just seems so appropriate to blog about what inspires me on Sundays.  I think it’s a great way to look back at the previous week and look ahead to the next.  It feels a lot like gratitude and I think there’s nothing like a dose of gratitude to make a girl feel good inside.

Here’s what’s catching my eye this week:

1. Nature

spring buds

One day it was cold, gray and blustery and the next day it was warm and sunny.  As a result, I’m seeing some hints of green and even some flower buds in my yard and garden!

It’s always so exciting to see new growth after the winter and it definitely gets me inspired to start thinking about spring and gardening.

2.  Chalk Ink Pens

I received a couple of these chalk ink pens as a Christmas gift and just got around to using them this week.

Oh my! They’ve kind of rocked my world a little bit (does my life sound dull?).  It is sooo much easier to write on a chalkboard using an easy-to-hold pen with a sharp tip than an ever-diminishing and breaking piece of chalk.

And, even though they go on like a paint pen, they totally wash off with water.  Thank you to the genius who invented these!

3.  This Houston  home designed by Holly Mathis

Yes, I’m inspired by Holly Mathis again.  I can’t help it.  This week she posted pictures of this house she worked on in Houston and it knocked my socks off.  Love, love, love it!

Go to Holly’s blog to see pictures of the entire house.  You won’t be disappointed!

4.  This bathroom at Patina Green in McKinney, TX

A couple of weeks ago I met two very sweet blogging friends, Stacey and Andrea in the quaint little town of McKinney (which really isn’t so little anymore) for lunch and shopping.  I have been in this shop many times and I always, always use the bathroom there because it is just so darned cool!

Forgive the blurry iPhone picture, but I think you can tell that it’s a pretty amazing little space.

And, it smells good in there, too!  Some dried lavender and some yummy soap…it’s not your run of the mill public restroom for sure!

By the way, it was also inspiring to meet up with Stacey and Andrea — we had such fun together!

5.  Beautiful Kitchens on the Web

As I mentioned in my last post, I am dreaming up ways to update my kitchen so I’ve been surfing Pinterest, Houzz.com and blogs like crazy.

It’s so easy for me to get lost in these beautiful pictures!

How about you?  What’s inspiring you this week?
