Thankful at Home {An Attitude of Gratitude}

When my friend Kelly and I first came up with the idea to organize a blog tour centered around Thanksgiving and being Thankful at Home, I really had no idea how rewarding it would be.

It’s not just because we were lucky enough to assemble an amazingly talented group of bloggers…

or because there are so many pretty pictures and great ideas showcased on the tour.

But, it’s because of all of the gratitude,  joyful hearts and stories of thankfulness that are being shared this week.

It fills me up!

Kelly and I wanted to highlight Thanksgiving because we felt that it’s an important holiday that tends to get lost between Halloween and Christmas.

Finding Home

I’ve noticed in recent years that if I don’t buy my Thanksgiving decor or paper napkins before Halloween, I have missed the window because retailers have already catapulted right on in to Christmas.

This year, more retailers have jumped on board to open their doors on Thanksgiving to get a head start on Christmas sales.

Ugh.

I, for one, am choosing to be Thankful at Home.  I want to be fully present on that day with my family and counting my blessings.

    Julie,
    Recently I was nominated for the Liebster Award and had just read one of your current posts at the time. So, immediately I thought of you as one of the eleven bloggers I would nominate. Therefore, I have listed you and your blog as a nominee for the Liebster Award on my Nov. 6 post.

    After I did more reading your archived posts I found where you have already received the Liebster Award. So, I thought, “I knew she is a great blogger.” I have kept you and your blog in my nominee list because I want to recognize you for all your creativity and work co-hosting the blogger event at the Round Top Antiques fair.

    See my Nov. 6 post for more details.

      Sometimes I wonder if anyone is reading this blog, so it’s wonderful to know that you are and that you actually like it!
      Things have been a bit hectic for me lately, so I don’t know if I’ll get to answering your questions, but I certainly enjoyed reading your answers at your blog!
      Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend! :)

  5. This is the last Thanksgiving I will have with my mother if I am lucky. I would like to say how important these family days are and to ask everyone to reconsider going shopping on Thanksgiving! It is a sad and depressing commentary on what we hold dear, in my opinion. If we vote with our $$$$ maybe the retailers will stop this distasteful practice.
