Fall on the Front Porch

I’m keeping my fall decor really simple this year.

No corn stalks, scare crows or pumpkins adorn my front door.

I’m just not in the mood.

Maybe it’s the higher than average temperatures that keep me from getting really in to it.

Maybe it’s because so many of my pumpkins and gourds rotted before the season ended last year.

Or, maybe it’s just because I think simple just suits me a little better this year.

How about you?  Fancy or simple…which do you prefer?

  1. Always simple for me. I’m much more attracted to real pumpkins and gourds than fake ones. I think they would squat and melt right now!

This is very simple and pretty, Julie! I never know how I’m going to feel from year to year. last fall I decorated with natural elements and never pulled out a bin of my more festive things. This year I had a love affair with pumpkins because I didn’t have them last year. I guess there’s a rhythm to it! I love those gray pumpkins…have to get on the hunt for one!

It depends on the year for me, Julie. I am dressing it up more than usual this year because I have four relatives coming to visit from out East. Hope you have a good night- xo Diana

i’m totally on the simple side of things, and i love your approach. the green pumpkin and your potted boxwoods are my favorites. i tried that, but since they are out by the street, one didn’t make it. the boyfriend suspects people are letting their dogs go on it. rude!
    enjoy yours,

Girl with that front door of yours it’s beautiful no matter what! I’m simple this year because it’s so hot still and there aren’t many pumpkins available yet. I’m looking forward to cooler weather and pumpkin stands on the roadside. Then we can get in the mood more. Right? :)

  10. Julie it all looks so nice and inviting. Hopefully the cool weather that just came in will stay. Tired of the 90 degree Texas heat. Thank you for joining us ladies for the Falling For Fall Porch Party!
