If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I had surgery on my foot earlier this week. Don’t worry. I’m fine. I had a painful “neuroma” on my left foot which, regrettably, led to surgery. Yuck.
As a result, I’ve been sitting on the couch or on my bed pretty much ever since Tuesday morning.
I’ve been trying to keep myself entertained in between naps all week (those pain meds make me sooo sleepy!). Here’s what I discovered: 1) I can get lost on the Internet (not really a news flash) 2) I don’t like sitting down day after day and 3) When forced to stay idle, I can come up with a million projects to do around my house.
I figured I’d put my getting lost on the Internet (i.e. blogs) to good use and introduce you to my 5 favorite blogger projects this week.
1. Drop Cloth Chair Covers by At the Picket Fence
I’m still not finished recovering my upholstered dining room chairs and this cute project and all my idle sitting this week might just be the kick in the pants I need to get that project finished! I absolutely love how these turned out!
2. Big Boy Room Reveal – Inspiration for Moms
I love this room.
It makes me want to rip everything out of my sons room and start over. I love the colors, I love the built-in look of the bed. Everything. Simply perfect!
3. Washi Tape Paper Lanterns – A Casarella
Have you heard about washi tape? I keep hearing about it. But, honestly, I really don’t know much about it. But, after seeing this post at A Casarella, I think I definitely need to try it.
If I would have seen this post before I re-did my daughter’s room, I think a paper lantern would have been in order for her room.
4. Primitive Farm Table – Storywood Designs
The back story of this restored farm table is every bit as good as the restoration itself! This is why I love old things…I love their history and the special meaning they hold.
5. Bathroom Sign – Three Mango Seeds
This sign cracks me up! My kids always want me to say prayers at bedtime, but the hand-washing thing…well, let’s just say that they try to wiggle out of that sometimes!
6. Children and Phone Calls – Suburble
Okay, I said I was highlighting my FIVE favorite blogger project this week and here I am adding a sixth. But this one isn’t a project, and I couldn’t resist. If you’re a mom, you can relate!
Tara, over at Suburble, wrote a post about trying to talk on the phone with children. My mom said she used to wish for a phone booth (does anyone know what that is anymore?!). Anyway…it’s a fun read. Just what I needed, a little light-hearted fun to get my mind off of my crazy foot.
Here’s to wishing you a great weekend and hoping you get to all the projects that are on your mind this week!
Take care,
Thank you so much for including my Washi Tape Lanterns. What a fun round-up of ideas!!

Great features, Julie.
Love the one about the phone booth! I tend to dash from room to room trying to hide from my three children while I talk on the phone.
Hope your foot heals quickly. I am a new blogger and would love for you to come visit me at http://www.3littlegreenwoods.com
Take care! Ashley
