What I Love About Fall & Introducing Fall Favorites Fridays

Have I mentioned I like fall?  Maybe just a few times. :)

Source: BHG

Today I'm linking up to The Inspired Room and sharing what I love about fall.

In addition, I'm starting a fall series of posts that I will publish every Friday until Thanksgiving. I'm calling it Fall Favorites Fridays.  I will add new links to the bottom of this post as new posts are added.

Until then, here are 20 little things I love about the season:

1.  The hope of cooler weather (I do live in Texas after all, it is just now cooling off)
2.  Garage sales (garage sales are big here in the fall!)
3.  Pie (pumpkin, pecan, butterscotch -- my mouth is watering just thinking about them!)
4.  Changing leaves
5.  Acorns
6.  Bittersweet (oh, how I miss this stuff!)
7.  Pumpkins and gourds
8.  Foods with pumpkin in them
9.  Blankets on the bed -- good sleeping weather!
10.  Fires in the fire pit
11.  Fall-themed crafts
12.  Kids/Halloween
13.  Thanksgiving
14.  Food (soups, Thanksgiving favorites)
15.  The start of school
16.  Fall-scented candles
17.  The crisp air
18.  Honeycrisp apples
19.  Fall festivals
20.  The pumpkin patch

If you're joining me from The Inspired Room, I will update this page with links to new posts every Friday and they will also be posted on my home page.  I hope you'll stop by!

I'm looking forward to the cooler weather as well! It's been so hot here in California lately. It's time for some crisp, fall air! Stopping by from The Inspired Room.

I'm from California too. We live in the mountains above Palm Springs and it was 107 today. So I am really looking forward to cooler weather.

Thanks for following, Debbie! I thought we had it bad in the high 90s but you win! Here's to hoping you get some cooler temperatures real soon. We are finally going to have a more fall-like day with an expected high of 78. I'll try to send it your way. :)

    Those pies sound delicious!

    What is bittersweet?

Quite a few on your list we don't have in Ireland but I wish we did!

Bittersweet is a vine that doesn't grow here in Texas but does in the northern United States (where I'm from). It has orange berries in the fall and many people make flower arrangements, wreaths and such with it. It looks so wonderful in the fall. Here's a link with a picture http://www.djroger.com/bittersweet%20FAQ.htm

So happy to have you visiting my blog from Ireland! Now I'm going to check out yours! :)

Texans are as anxious to have cool weather in the fall as northerners are to see spring after the winter! :) Hope your kids are enjoying the great state of Texas!

I hope things are starting to cool down for you. We're still having tons of sunshine (on Vancouver Island) but the nights are getting chillier. Lovely to pull a blanket up. Your list is wonderful.
